Physio First AGM Update – Building Momentum
At this year’s AGM, members approved a series of constitutional changes to ensure Physio First continues to reflect the realities of modern private physiotherapy and remains fit for the future.
These changes are not about changing direction, but about evolving by giving the organisation greater flexibility to grow, represent, and support its members effectively.
A year of progress
Following a year of transition, the past 12 months have been about building momentum.
There has been a noticeable shift, small, but important in how independent physiotherapy is being recognised within the wider profession. Increasingly, it is being understood not as separate, but as part of a single profession working across different settings.
Because patients don’t think in sectors, they look for access, quality, and outcomes. That is where Physio First members continue to deliver.
Strengthening Physio First
Internally, Physio First has continued to evolve to better reflect how members practise.
Clinic membership has been an important step forward, recognising that many members are running businesses and working within teams, not just as individuals.
It enables clinics to bring their wider clinical teams into Physio First, supporting shared learning, development, and consistency across the whole service, not just one person.
Alongside this, member engagement has strengthened, the overall offer has continued to develop, and membership growth has resumed.
Together, these changes provide a stronger foundation for the organisation moving forward.
What the constitutional changes enable
The approved changes support:
- a more modern and flexible organisational structure
- the ability to better reflect how private physiotherapy is delivered in practice
- continued growth and development of the membership offer
- stronger representation of members within wider professional and system conversations
Looking ahead
Physio First is now in a stronger position than it was a year ago, clearer in its purpose, more confident in its voice, and increasingly present in the conversations that shape the profession.
The focus for the year ahead remains clear:
- strengthening influence across the wider system
- supporting members in a changing landscape
- and continuing to build a community that people actively want to be part of
In summary
Physio First is building on strong foundations and moving forward with clarity, confidence, and momentum.
