Meet June Lumsden – Clinic Director
With almost 40 years of experience, June Lumsden is a highly qualified physiotherapist with postgraduate qualifications in Orthopaedic Medicine, Sports Science, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shiatsu.
Notably, she was one of the first medical practitioners in Scotland to earn an MSc in Sports Injuries.
Her extensive work with international athletes shaped a holistic philosophy: injuries should be treated not just in isolation, but in a way that also enhances overall performance. This approach has become the cornerstone of her practice, benefiting patients of all backgrounds with a wide range of injuries.
After successfully establishing the sports injury clinic at Heriot-Watt University, June founded the Edinburgh Sports Injury Clinic in 2003. The clinic’s services have grown over the years to help individuals from all walks of life. In 2013, she expanded further by constructing a state-of-the-art treatment facility.
Committed to staying at the forefront of her field, June recognised the need for improved core and pelvic floor rehabilitation. To address this, the clinic invested in a real-time ultrasound scanner. This advanced tool provides precise feedback, eliminating the guesswork from exercises and ensuring different muscles are engaged correctly. It has become a vital part of the rehabilitation process for patients with back pain, sacroiliac instability, and pelvic floor issues.
June is dedicated to continuous learning and providing exceptional patient care. She ensures every patient receives the best possible treatment from the moment they walk through the door.
Clinic facilities and equipment include Real Time Ultrasound, Fully fitted gym and more.
