Important information about your free legal advice service

 

This service provides free, unreserved legal advice through Physio First who is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). As such Physio First and Paul Donnelly, must make it clear that we cannot accept any reserved work as set out in the Legal Services Act 2007. To clarify the limitations and protections involved before you proceed please note:

1. Physio First cannot provide reserved legal advice?

Under the Legal Services Act 2007, the six reserved legal activities are:

  • the exercise of a right of audience
  • the conduct of litigation
  • reserved instrument activities
  • probate activities
  • notarial activities
  • the administration of oaths

Because Physio First is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and for insurances purposes, we cannot accept any reserved work.

2. SRA Minimum Terms and Conditions (MTCs) Do Not Apply:

As Physio First is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), the SRA's MTCs regarding client care and conduct do not apply. However, Physio First upholds high ethical standards and aims to provide clear and accurate advice.

3. Professional Indemnity Insurance:

Physio First has professional indemnity insurance, which can offer limited financial protection in case of negligence or professional misconduct. You may request details about the scope of coverage.

4. SRA Compensation Fund:

Clients using this service are not eligible for grants from the SRA Compensation Fund. This Fund assists clients wronged by SRA-regulated solicitors where other avenues for compensation fail.

5. Informed Choice and Consumer Protections:

  • Your unreserved legal advice will be provided solely by Paul Donnelly and members of our office team under his supervision.
  • Information about his qualifications, experience is readily available on request.

6. Complaint Handling Procedure:

You have the right to complain about this service in two ways i.e. you can lodge a complaint directly with Paul Donnelly or the Chair of Physio First and/or with the Legal Ombudsman.

  1. Complaints can be made in writing or by email to Paul Donnelly or the Chair of Physio First.
    • please provide a clear explanation of the issue, and we will acknowledge your complaint promptly.
    • if you are dissatisfied with our response or if eight weeks have passed since you lodged your complaint, you have the right to escalate your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman.
