Assistant Professor Craig Allingham FSMA NSAA

Craig’s qualifications are in sports physiotherapy, sports
science and men’s health. He has been awarded a fellowship with Sports Medicine
Australia and honorary membership of the Queensland Shoulder Society. Academic
positions include convener of the Griffith University Masters of Sports
Physiotherapy program and now an adjunct Assistant Professor at Bond University.
His career has included clinical practice, elite team practice including three
Australian Olympic Teams and sports science & medicine consultant for Baseball
Australia. He shares six children with wife Mary on the Sunshine Coast in
Queensland and enjoys motorcycle touring, red wine, jazz and dark chocolate.
Dr Nicola Phillips MCSP PhD

Nicki is a Reader at Cardiff University, Director of
Postgraduate Healthcare Studies and Programme Manager of the MSc in Sports
Physiotherapy. She also currently works as Consultant physiotherapist for
SportWales. She is Vice-President of the Association of Chartered
Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine and President of the International
Federation of Sports Physical Therapy. She completed her PhD in Cardiff
University on the challenges of functional coping in ACL deficiency and her
research areas include measurement of functional recovery following sports
injury. Her main experience is in sports injury management, with a specific
interest in sports rehabilitation of upper and lower limb. Sports experience
includes working with the British and Welsh teams at Olympic and Commonwealth
Games.
Dr Zoe Hudson MCSP PhD

Zoe has worked in Higher Education since 1995, and ran the
masters programme at Queen Mary University of London for 6 years until 2009.
Principal research interests include lower limb biomechanics and rehabilitation
in high performance sport and physical activity in the general population. She
worked at International level for several sports for 10 years. Zoe is the editor
of Physical Therapy in Sport, an international, peer-reviewed journal and is
co-author of Management of the Injured Athlete (2011, Elsevier). Zoe was part of
successful expeditions to both the North and South Pole.
Dr Michael L Voight PT, DHSc, OCS, SCS, ATC, FAPTA

Mike is a professor
with Belmont University’s School of Physical Therapy, Nashville TN. He is a
physiotherapist clinician, educator and researcher. He was made a Fellow of the
American Physical Therapy Association in 2011. In 1987 he became one of the
first US board certified clinical specialists in Sports Physical Therapy and in
1994 gained certification of advanced clinical competence in orthopaedic
physical therapy. Mike was elected to the Executive Board of the International
Federation of Sports Physiotherapy (WCPT) and the IFSP Executive Board. Mike has
worked with elite athletic organizations including NFL and NBA, Pan Am Games and
Olympic Games. More recently, he has worked with the Medical Commission for FIFA
and the Professional Golf Association, consulting on the prevention, evaluation
and treatment of golf injuries. He has lectured extensively (over 600
presentations), authored over 70 papers, text book chapters, written 3 textbooks
on functional exercise and is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the International
Journal of Sports Physical Therapy and has received the Distinguished Educator
Award from the Sports Physical Therapy Section 3 times and the inaugural SPTS
Lifetime Excellence in Education award.
Mr Richard Villar BSc (Hons) MA MS FRCS

Richard Villar is a
consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Cambridge Lea Hospital, Cambridge, UK. He
is a specialist in surgery of the young adult hip, has over 15 years’ experience
in hip arthroplasty and has been performing hip arthroscopic surgery since 1988.
He treats many premier national and international athletes, lectures extensively
and wrote one of the first world texts on arthroscopy of the hip. Richard has
been the Assistant Editor of the British Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, for
whom he now produces a monthly podcast, and also runs a comprehensive Fellowship
programme. He has been an elected member of the Council of the British
Orthopaedic Association, an assessor for the General Medical Council and a
Founding Member of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy. His leisure
activities include mountaineering (he is a trained International Mountain
Leader), Nordic skiing and classical guitar.
Diane Lee BSR FCAMT CGIMS Physiotherapist

Diane graduated
from University of British Columbia with a BSR degree in 1976. She has been a
fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy since 1981 and completed
her certification in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) in 2001. Diane is a
co-founder of Discover Physio and owner, director and physiotherapist at Diane
Lee & Associates in White Rock, BC, Canada. Diane is well known for her clinical
work on thoracic, lumbar and pelvic disability and pain. The Pelvic Girdle, was
first published in 1989 and the latest edition (2011, 4th edn.) presents a new
model, The Integrated Systems Model, co-developed with Linda-Joy Lee, and is the
foundation of the seriesof courses offered by Discover Physio. She is currently
researching the behaviour of the abdominal wall in women with diastasis rectus
abdominis.
Dr Wayne Diesel MCSP PhD
Wayne
is a chartered physiotherapist who is currently employed full time at Tottenham
Hotspur Football Club as their Head of Medical Services. He has held this
position for the past 4 seasons. He was awarded his doctorate in Exercise
Physiology through the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 1994 with Prof
Tim Noakes. Current academic involvement includes lecturing on Groin and
Hamstring Rehabilitation to MSc Medical Students from University College of
London and Barts University. His most recent scientific publication was as a
co-author in 2007 on a rehabilitation programme for elite Rugby Union
footballers.
Dr Bryan English Former Chief Medical Director Chelsea Football Club

Bryan was, until recently, Chief Medical Director of Chelsea
Football Club and was responsible for the medical welfare of all the footballers
at Chelsea Football Club (from Academy to First Team) and managed a diverse
multidisciplinary medical team. He is Chairman of The Premier League Doctors
Group. He qualified in Medicine in Sheffield in 1986, and went on to gain
qualifications in Osteopathy (London) in 1989, and Sports Medicine (Royal
London) in 1992. He worked in the NHS for 13 years with the last 6 of these as a
Consultant in Orthopaedic/Musculoskeletal Medicine in Sheffield and Leeds. His
previous sports appointments include Chief Medical Officer to UK Athletics;
Chairman of United Kingdom Association of Doctors in Sport; Board Member
National Sports Medicine Institute; Vice president Osteopathic Sports Care
Association and Chief Medical Officer Everest Marathon 1997. His published work
includes musculoskeletal problems in Emergency Medicine and Essential Sports
Medicine.
