Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the Physio First Education Sub Committee, I would
like to warmly welcome you to our 2012 Diamond Jubilee Education Day Programme.
We have brought together a variety of exciting topics, to promote new research,
new ideas and new approaches to a spectrum of completely different, but wholly
relevant, clinical and business issues. The eminent speakers will seek to engage
us in a unique learning experience; promote and enhance the development of new
skills in challenging arenas and enhance your referral pathways.
Who cannot but be challenged by the patient presenting with
Fibromyalgia, Polymyalgia or M.E? Dr Tom Kennedy, Consultant Rheumatologist,
will present updated research with time for debate and case study presentations
ensuring definite increase in clinical understanding and application.
Chris Lewis, a lecturer with the RAF, will speak on Strength
Deployment Inventory, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy. This is a course chosen specifically to help us to understand our
patients’ needs more effectively and improve two-way communication. The added
advantage is that this course is also superb for practice managers and
self-employed associates.
Req D’Souza is going to help us understand how to apply
effective Acupuncture ‘short cuts’ for treating neck and low back pain, knee,
elbow, Achilles tendonitis and tension headaches. What an advantage to have the
techniques and the relevant research to support those musculoskeletal
conditions.
Jon Wigley and Paul Donnelly have an exciting and new course on
Maximising Your Revenue. They bring with them an enormous wealth of experience
and knowledge. Although this course dovetails into the business course matrix,
it will also stand alone and support your on-going business success.
Pam Simpson and Sarah Allaway’s combined course on CPR and
Manual Handling is a well-established favourite, so to ensure you are up to date
with all recent changes book early as you know this will be well attended.
All the courses have been chosen to give you an “added value
factor” whether that is with regards to clinical skills or enhanced business
acumen and I sincerely hope that as you make your choice you review the course
aims and objectives concurrently to feel confident in the outcome anticipated.
Thank you for participating in this year’s Education Day. It is
only possible through your continued support. I hope you find your chosen course
and the Day in general, both stimulating and enjoyable. I look forward to
meeting you.
Best Wishes
